Lead the change you believe in…
without losing yourself along the way.
Coaching, leadership development, and healing-centered practices for liberatory changemakers.
WHY COACHING
You care about changing the world. But it’s not easy.
You care deeply about justice, equity, and the possibility of a better world. But working for change inside institutions (and within the horrors realities of the current world) is complicated.
You're navigating resistance, balancing vision with reality, and trying to lead in ways that stay aligned with your values.
It can feel lonely, exhausting, messy, or unclear what the next step should be… even when you’re the one everyone else is looking to for guidance.
Hey, you don’t have to do this all on your own.
So if you’ve been asking yourself:
How do I stay aligned with my values inside systems that resist change?
How do I lead without burning out?
How do I trust my voice and leadership more fully?
Then you're exactly the kind of person this work is for.
About Me
Hi, I’m Beth
I help changemakers create more peace, purpose, justice, belonging, and liberation in their personal and professional worlds. Like you, I understand the weight of trying to be a catalyst for good.
For more than two decades, I’ve worked at the intersection of social justice, leadership, healing, and education: first as a professor of Gender & Women’s Studies, and now as a coach, facilitator, and practitioner of embodiment-based approaches.
Along the way, I’ve seen something again and again:
People doing important justice work often carry enormous responsibility, all while navigating institutions that don’t always support the change they’re trying to create.
I’ve worked as a change leader within higher education for over twenty years. I started idealistically and passionately. Now I’m…..less idealistic. After years of watching meaningful change stall, get watered down, or unravel with leadership shifts, that kind of clarity changed me.
P.S.
I am...
A budding mosaic artist, finding beauty and pattern in broken fragments
A proud human to two adorable kitties who keep me grounded (when they aren’t clawing the furniture)
An author of three books (well, one is a second edition that I completely rewrote… overachiever energy)
A recovering perfectionist
A lifelong learner
A lover of water (first discovered in the Finger Lakes of New York, now cherished among Minnesota’s 10,000 lakes) and of mountains, thanks to the Colorado Rockies
A big fan of Japan! I lived there for over a year, teaching English
A lover of flowers, especially California poppies, delphiniums, and ornamental grasses
A yoga teacher and devoted practitioner
A creator. I made an interactive fairy garden where neighborhood kids played, imagined, and added their own magical creatures
…and a believer in small, meaningful moments that create real magic and transformation.
And yet.
In that time, I’ve also supported hundreds of young leaders to find their voice. I’ve partnered with justice-oriented colleagues on important change initiatives that made a difference. And I’ve become more nuanced in my understanding of people, social justice issues, and the change process.
I know the pull of disillusionment. The push to go along with the status quo.
After years of working for change, relying too heavily on intellect, analysis, and strategy, I realized that I needed to incorporate more of our embodied experience: energetic, heart-centered, relational. THAT is where the deep wisdom we need in this time lies.
My work is about creating space and support
…to reconnect with your values.
…to find levity, humor, and hope.
…to think clearly about the challenges you’re facing.
…to lead in ways that feel aligned, sustainable, and deeply human.
Because the work of changing the world is a lot to carry. And you are worthy of being held, too.
