FAQs

  • DEI coaching and consulting provides a brave space for yourself, your team/group, or your organization to explore inherent biases and determine how to overcome them. You will learn how to become more skilled regarding discussions about DEI concerns. Working with a DEI coach or consultant can support learning how to lead equitably, support diversity, and advocate for change.

The issues of equity and inclusion are multiple and complex. This means we all have work to do – and it’s a different type of work. I can provide the support and accountability you need to do the work required for creating a more equitable environment.

  • DEI work is a long-term commitment that has to go beyond coaching and consulting periods for there to be truly transformational and sustainable change. While workshops, articles, books, and videos can create room for conversation and motivate others to do the work, more time has to be invested in reversing the harmful biases and unjust practices that have been created in our world.

I can work with you and your organization to come up with a realistic yet effective plan for creating a more equitable environment. BUT there will be work to do.

Reversing harm takes time, but it is *still* only a fraction of the time our fellow humans have experienced through discrimination and trauma through generations – you need to be committed to doing the work.

  • A workplace where everyone feels valued and supported will experience improved workplace culture and morale. These have been tied to seeing improvements in productivity, collaborative work, innovative and creative thinking, and employee retention. Also, it’s just more humane and what we ALL deserve for ourselves and our communities.

Did you know that in 2022, 76% of job seekers and employees said that DEI was a key factor when evaluating a workplace?

Here are some other statistics for you – companies that welcome or are more diverse are:

    1.7x more innovative

36% more likely to outperform their competitors

2.6x more likely to retain their workforce

Earning 2.3x more cash flow per employee

Integrating DEI into your organization is not just a good and ethical thing today, it is foundational to the longevity, profitability, and overall success of your organization.

  • Truly transformational change has to start with your leadership. It must be a top-down effort for it to work.

If your leadership isn’t committed to change, consider sharing your concerns with your HR department. Consider sharing data and statistics as to the effects DEI may be having or could have on your organization. Sharing resources such as books, articles, and videos on DEI can help.

You can also focus on what is within your own control, and get support through leadership coaching or consulting to learn how to lead more equitably by example.
